Ahmedabad: Well known space scientist and Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) A.S. Kiran Kumar,will deliver convocation lecture at the Gujarat Technical University (GTU) here tomorrow.

Governor of Gujarat and ex-officio Chancellor of GTU, O P Kohli will preside over the 6 th Convocation ceremony to held at Chandkheda campus of the university, PO (Media) Sanjay Trivedi said today

Total 138 students will be awarded Gold Medal for their most outstanding academic records while 4353 students from various faculties graduating from various colleges in Gujarat affiliated with the GTU will be receiving degree certificates on the occasion in person. Total number of students getting degrees or diploma is around 87,258, he informed.

A.S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman, ISRO will be the Chief Guest for the Convocation Ceremony. He will deliver the Convocation address on the occasion. Education Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrasinh Chudasama will be the guest of honour. Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU and other dignitaries will also remain present.

Mr Trivedi said that for the first time in history of GTU number of Doctorate degree recipients has reached double digit this year as 20 PhD will be conferred to various students from faculties like Civil Engineering, Management, Computer Science, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Textile Engineering and Pharmacy.
