Centre approves Rs 750 crore Sarkhej – Gandhinagar Highway 6-laning project

Ahmedabad: Sarkhej – Gandhinagar highway(SG highway) – one of the stretches that connect the city of Ahmedabad with capital Gandhinagar will be converted into a six-lane road at a cost of Rs 750 crore, said Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Nitin Patel in a statement today.
“A proposal for six-lane conversion of SG highway was sent to the central government which has been approved today,” Patel said adding that the proposal was moved in view of increased traffic.
He said, “six laning of this 44-km highway stretch will result into reduction in traffic and save time and fuel”.
Under the proposed project, flyovers will be built at Sindhubhavan cross roads, Vaishodevi circle, Sargasan, Sanand and Infocity junction.
Moreover a six-lane over bridge at Sola will be widened to six-lane.
