Major highlights of Gujarat Budget 2017-18

– Stipend to those passing UPSC now to be given not just to SPIPA students but to all eligible.
– Four new family courts at Gir Somnath, Arvalli, Morbi and Devbhumi Dwarka districts.
-Special courts at Arvalli and Gir Somnath for atrocity cases.
– Appointment of 1000 traffic police men.
– Rs 200 crore for CCTV camera installation at all district headquarters, six pilgrim places, important traffic circles and entry/exit points.
– Implementation of system to issue digital property cards and rural property cards.
– Rs 10 crore allocation for state level Kala Mahakumbh for artists.
-Rs 118 crore allocation for sports activities.
– Solar water heater at govt schools and hostels.
-Off-grid solar rooftop system at 135 primary health centers to ensure continuous power supply.
– Assistance for battery operated two-wheelers to 4,000 students.
-Cleaner production assesment and research process at Changodar GIDC.
-15% increase in pay for Anganwadi workers. Rs 4750 to Rs 5500, Rs 2400 to Rs 2800, Rs 2800 to Rs 3200.
-Implementation of Dudh Sanjeevani Yojana in 102 talukas across 20 districts covering 13 lakh children.
-New corporation for welfare of divyangs. Monthly student assistance up from Rs 400 to Rs 500. 80+ age montly pensions increased to Rs 1000, upto 80 years Rs 500.
-Tribal University at Narmada.
– Rs 10 crore for 250 villages for conversion to Vrindawan gram.
– Rs 100 crore for smart gram conversion of 296 villages.
– 10% hike in Octroi assistance to civic bodies.
– Rs 10 crore for Mobile Swachchata Squads which will move across the state whenever and wherever their services for cleanliness drive is needed such as Ambaji fair, Dakor fair and other occasions/places.
-Online building plan approva, building use permission.
– Rs 10 crore to develop world-level museum at Alfred high school at Rajkot where Gandhiji had education.
-Rs 100 crore for redevelopment of Khari Cut canal which passes through Ahmedabad city. Concrete cover to canal, recreation activity, transportation corridor under plan.
– Rs 2,000 crore allocation for 1,25,000 new agri power connections.
– Rs 181 crore for solar pump assistance to 4500 farmers and 12,000 solar pv system under solar home lighting scheme.
– 50 new CNG stations and 1,30,000 PNG connections to home by Gujarat Gas Ltd.
-Modhera village in North Gujarat which is famous for its sun temple to be converted into solar village with all needs functional through solar power.
– Rs 85 crore for second phase development of Science City.
– Rs 25 crore for internet connection to municipalities.
– Rs 25 crore for cloud infrastructure at state data center.
– Rs 142 crore for Gora bridge near Sardar Sarovar.
– Rs 100 crore for Rs 4050 crore barrage at Bhadbhut in river Narmada.
-Rs 1698 crore to fill 63 reservoirs across 10 districts of Saurashtra region covering 1,94,000 hectare irrigation area under SAUNI project.
– Rs 438 crore for irrigation in 10,000 hectare land in tribal areas of Surat district and Dahod and Mahisagar districts.
– Rs 210 crore for lift irrigation projects in Gandhinagar and Mahesana districts under Sujalam Sufalam project.
-100 MLD discelination plant under PPP model for Dwarka, Porbandar, Rajkot, Morbi, Kutch. Initial allocation of Rs 10 crore.
– Rs 234 crore for Narmada water to Bhayavadar, Jetpur, Dhoraji, Jamkandorna, Upleta, Bhayavadar towns and 156 villages of Jetpur, Dhoraji, Jamkandora, Ulpeta talukas through D-network.
-Ghodha-Dahej Ro-Ro ferry project to be completed in year 2017. Rs 24 crore fresh allocation.
– Construction of jetty for Narmada parikrama.
– Rs 410 crore for 1600 new buses of GSRTC for rural areas.
-Rs 150 crore for redevelopment and modernization of 28 bus depots.
-Rs 5 crore to set up Gujarat Marg Salamati Society.
-Rs 50 crore for Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Rajkot highway six lane conversion with 70:30 debt equity ration.
-Bridge on Banas river connecting Harij-Totana, river tapi connecting Un-Kosadi, river Mahi Ambav-Galteshwar, river Shetrunji Timana-Dantrad. Rs 91 crore allocations for tis.
– Four lanning of Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Dhandhuka-Valbhipur-Bhavnagar highway, Mahesana-Visnagar-Ambaghat-Ambaji-Gujarat/Rajasthan border highway, Paliyad-Sayla-Muli-Surendranagar-Malvan-Patdi-Dasada highway, Badhla-Rajula-Hindorna highway, Chavand-Lathi-Amreli highway, Chikhli-Vadhai-Ahva-Chinchli-Maharashtra border highway.
-Rs 210 crore for two laning of 317 km state highways.
-Rs 200 crore for World Bank assisted Gujarat state highway project.
– Construction of 36 bridges is going on. New 37 bridges to be built.
– 58 highways total 730.14 km long to be converted to four lane.
– Rs 2500 crore for Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana for all weather roads to villages.
-100 recruitment fairs covering 3 lakh youths.
-Rs 29 crore for skill training to 20,000.
– Rs 1,000 monthly old-age assistance to 60+ age construction sector laborers.
-Dhanvantari ambulance service to unorganized sector labourers. They are to be coverd under Maa Yojana.
-Rs 50 crore for Rs 10 a dish meal to construction sector labouers under Shramik Annapurna Yojana.
-100th anniversary of Sabarmati Ashram: Rs 25 crore for area development.
-Rs 10 crore for Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat scheme connecting Gujarat and Chhattisgarh states.
– Rs 10 crore for border tourism at Nada bet.
-Smart Tourist destination conversion for Saputara, Devmogra, Dakor, Ambaji, Dwarka-Bet Dwarka, Somnath, Palitana, Sasangir. Rs 20 crore allocation.
– Rs 20 crore to train 10,000 youths in tourism and hospitality sector covering 15 courses.
-Rs 4 crore for Shravan Tirth Darshan Yojana under which senior citizens about 60 when hire ST bus for pilgrim tour will get 50% discount. If they charter a private bus, they will get 50% amount matching to ST bus tour cost.
-Rs 132 crore for night air traffic all weather landing and take off facilities at airports.
– Rs 570 crore under Textile policy.
– Rs 200 crore for industrial incentive scheme, defense and aerospace policy, plastic industry scheme.
– Rs 17 crore for Start Ups.
– Rs 50 lakh for skill training,identity card, safe market to those in leather industry.
-Rs 10 crore special package for traditional workers like Barbour, carpenter, tailor, mochi, kumbhar, dhobi etc.
-New commissioner office for micro, small and medium (MSME) enterprises.
– Multi story 5,000 plug and produce shades of which 1,000 to be reserved for SC/ST benificieries.
– Rs 100 crore special package for MSME
– Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Udhyog Uday Yojana package for SC/ST benificieries.
