After Apex Court’s order for removal of GUJCOMASOL chairman Natvarlal Patel, govt. appoints Bharat Joshi as custodian

Gandhinagar: The state government has appointed a senior officer of co-operative department as the administrator/custodian of the Gujarat State Cooperative Marketing Federation Ltd. Popularly known as GUJCOMASOL after the apex court order today removing its incumbent longtime chairman Natvarlal P Patel form his post with immediate effect.

The court in its order today said that that an administrator should be appointed to take care of the day-to-day business of the cooperative body till the election of the next chairman.

Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel today said that Joint registrar of Co-operative department Bharat Joshi has been appointed as the custodian of GUJCOMASOL

Notably the body undertakes many types of activities and most of them are related with agriculture. Being a cooperative federation,its mission is to provide agriculture inputs like fertilisers, seeds, pesticides etc. to the farmers through cooperative channel. The Federation is procuring, processing and sell the agricultural produces which are produced by farmers. The Federation has a mission to give reasonable rates to the farmers for their agricultural produces and therefore agricultural produces are required to be processed and to make them value added.
The Federation has some processing units including Groundnut Processing Unit at Amreli, Rice Mill at Narol & Kalol, Pulse Mill at Narol and Cotton Ginning Pressing unit at Mehsana.

Natvarlal P Patel had got a relief from Gujarat High Court earlier which had allowed him to remain on his post till the next election, however on an appeal against the judgement the supreme court today asked him to step down immediately.
