Ahmedabad to host biggest Yoga Anushthan of world till date: Baba Ramdev on 21 June International Yoga Day event

Ahmedabad: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev today while addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad today afternoon announced International Yoga Day event in the city on 21 June with participation of around 5 lakh.

“This will be the biggest Yoga Anushthan of the world till date. GMDC ground and AES grounds with combined size of 28 lakh square ft will host the event. I will be staying here on 18-19-20-21 June,” said Ramdev.

“State Chief Minister will inaugurate the event on the first day. BJP president Amit Shah will remain present in concluding function,” he added.

“I have already spoken to Rameshbhai Ojha for his presence. I will also speak to Morari Bapu today and Swaminarayan saints from BAPS and SGVP Gurukul. We wish for presence of saints and spiritual leaders from Art of Living, Arya Samaj, Bramhakumaris and other organization. This will be a major celebration. There was a time of Vedik civilization, there was also Mughal civilization in this country. Now in entire world there will be emergence of Yogic civilization. When more than 170 countries thanks to Shri Modi’s efforts including Islamic, communist, Christian countries extended their support to UN for International Yoga Day, it was felt for the first time that Yoga is scientific, effective and secular technique. It’s an ideal life pattern. Our goal is not to create any world record but to make Yoga as part of life. Yoga and Adhyatma will only boost ethical behavior. Political parties should pass resolution and ask their members to do Yoga in order to fight corrupt practices. Yoga, Karma Yoga and good health should be our first priorities and others should be on the sidelines,” said Ramdev.

“This will be a non-political programme in partnership with Gujarat government which will also involve various social organizations,” Ramdev said while thanking Gujarat minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.

Ramdev said his four-hour time everyday is reserved for Yoga. He said his firm Patanjali has made turnover of Rs 10561 crore which will further increase to Rs 1 lakh crore in next five years. Patanjali will start 11 lakh Yoga classes across the country. Ramdev asked people for spending daily two to four hours time for Yoga.
