Gujarat my karma bhoomi of Yog, it all started here: Baba Ramdev on Gujarat visit

Ahmedabad: Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev arrived at Sardar Patel airport here today morning one one-day visit to city. He visited Gandhinagar to meet Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and later moved to Chharodi based Swaminarayan Gurukul on Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar highway.

Ramdev at airport speaking to media persons said, “25 years ago, the movement of Yoga started from Surat and Murat and Surat of people changed. Gujarat is my karmabhoomi of Yog. This year, international Yoga day celebration will be held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat during 18-21 June. The message of Yoga will reach the world. 5 lakh persons will take part in Yoga day event and make a record. Prior to election, the entire nation witnessed a slogan that Achche Din will come. People used to ask me how Achche Din will come. I want to say that through combination of Yoga and Udyoga and with that spiritual and economic progress Achche Din are coming to this country and also at global level later on.”

In reply to a question he said, “with increase in sadachar and naitikta, bhrashtachar in political and social life will go down and for that Yoga needs to be swabhav in this country, said Ramdev referring to Shri Krishna’s quote in Geeta.”

BJP president Amit Shah is a Yogi – Baba Ramdev in Gujarat

Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar: Yog Guru Baba Ramdev today praised BJP president Amit Shah terming him a ‘Yogi’.

Talking to newsmen after meeting chief minister Vijay Rupani, Baba Ramdev, who arrived Gujarat today in connection with the preparations for his four day yoga camp on the occasion of International Yoga Day from June 18 to 21, said that BJP president Amit Shah would participate in the concluding session of the camp as chief guest.

‘The camp which would create a world record with participation of 5 lakh people would be inaugurated by CM Rupani and it would be concluded by Amit Shah, the BJP president who himself was a Yogi,’ Baba Ramdev said in fluent Gujarati.

‘Amitbhai is a yogi because of his strong dedication to Yoga, spirituality and Indian cultural values,’ he said.

To a query he also praised the efforts of the Gujarat government about getting constitutional status for cow as the mother of the nation (Rashtramata). ‘Cow is naturally the mother of our nation and the steps taken by Gujarat government to get constitutional status for it were praiseworthy. I hope that now PM Modi will also do the needful,’ he said.

Ramdev is scheduled to address a press conference later in the day to share more details about 21 June International Yoga Day function.
