AICTE nod to GTU for Graduate School of Engineering and Pharmacy

Ahmedabad: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the statutory body and a national-level council for technical education today gave green signal to proposal of Gujarat Technological University (GTU) to start Graduate School of Engineering and Technology as well as Graduate School of Pharmacy.
For the first time in Gujarat, GTU is starting Post Graduate Computer engineering (Cyber Security) program. AICTE has approved 30 seats for the brand new course. Students who have passed BE (Computer Engineering) or BE (IT) or BE (ICT) will be eligible to apply for this program. GTU also got nod of AICTE for M.Pharm. (Drug Regulatory Affairs). In the era of globalization, trend of patent and regulatory affairs like USFDA and regulations of various countries are becoming equally important for export-oriented pharma companies. AICTE has approved 30 seats for this new course of GTU, Prof. (Dr) Navin Sheth, Vice Chancellor of GTU has announced.
Both the courses will be started at Gandhinagar Campus of GTU situated in Sector 26 initially and later when the infrastructure is ready at Chandkheda campus in Ahmedabad, they will be shifted here.
Process to set up advanced infrastructure at Chandkheda Campus of Ahmedabad has been started. The buildings with hi-tech labs, equipped with cutting edge equipment from the fund of around Rs. 100 Crore allocated by Government of Gujarat will be constructed.
There will also be provision of hostel in the Chandkheda Campus. Both the new courses will be shifted to Chandkheda Campus after the infrastructure will get ready. For both the programs students will have to do industry projects. Admission process for both the courses will be done by Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC).
