Gujarat Congress postpones Maha Sammelan which was to be held on Wednesday

Ahmedabad: The maha sammelan organized by Gujarat Congress on Wednesday at the Gujarat University Convention hall in Ahmedabad has been postponed. As per the State Congress communication last week the maha sammelan was to be addressed by State Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki, Leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela and State party incharge Ashok Gehlot among other leaders. Elected as well as organizational members of party were to attend this maha sammelan. It is believed that the maha sammelan which was to be held on the agenda of Panchayati Raj has been postponed due to open revolt by leader of opposition Shankersinh Vaghela against the present set up of the party including the Delhi leadership.

Meanwhile State Congress spokesperson Manish Doshi said, “the Maha Sammelan on Panchayati Raj of the elected representatives of Congress has been postponed for now owing to three main reasons. The unavailability of Gujarat In-charge of the party Ashok Gehlot, on the day (June 28, Wednesday) owing to other engagement, the meeting of the observers of all the 182 assembly constituency in connection with party tickets on June 29 to be held at party headquarters in Ahmedabad and the ongoing rainy season in southern Gujarat and Saurashtra – Manish Doshi spokesperson Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee.”
