Army, IAF, NDRF, SDF moved to Banaskantha for rescue and relief, over 7,000 shifted to safer places

Gandhinagar: The government has moved Army from Dhrangadhra to flood-hit pockets of northern Gujarat district Banaskantha. After moving NDRF and SDRF teams that have already started shifting, rescue and relief works, the government has also moved Border Security Force(BSF) teams to flood hit areas today. Indian Air Force helicopters are awaiting favorable weather conditions to do rescue operations.

– Senior IAS Harit Shukla has been moved to Banaskantha district to coordinate between various agencies involved in rescue/shifting and relief.

– More than 7,000 persons in Banaskantha district are shifted to safer places. 225 are rescued by various agencies.

– Chopper has reached Deesa for rescue. Three more chopper are going to join the operations.

– Indian Air Force, NDRF, SDRF, BSF, local police are the agencies involved in rescue and relief.

– 80 persons are evacuated in Bhadath and Kotdacrare in Dhanera.

– 122 roads are closed. One national highway in Banaskantha, 26 State Highway, 95 panchayat roads are closed.

– After Sipu, now Dantiwada dam gates will be opened.

– All gates of Sukhbhadar dam are closed.

– 1107 people of 18 villages are in Tharad taluka are shifted to safer places.

– 26 people are rescued from Aalwada village in Dhanera taluka.

– 105 people are rescued by local administration from Genaji village of Deesa taluka.

– 5000 food packets and drinking water pouches are sent to Deesa taluka.

– 10,000 food packets are sent to Dhanera with equal number of drinking water pouches.

– 300 people are shifted in Tharad city area.

– 125 are shifted in Deodar taluka.

– 12 families are shifted in Pechdal and 5 in Sherpura villages of Deesa taluka.

– 35 people are rescued in Dhanera city.
