-Rajkot Municipal Corporation’s health teams raided cricket Ravindra Jadeja’s restaurant Jaddu’s Food Field and found about 75 kg inedible food. RMC team destroyed the stock of inedible food. Jadeja’s restaurant has been in news for wrong reasons in the past too for more than one occasions.

– A team of Election Commission of India(ECI) is likely to be in Gujarat on 9-10 October to hold series of meetings with political parties, district collectors, chief secretary, stat police chief and others. General elections for Gujarat assembly are likely to take place in the month of December this year. Announcement of dates and imposition of model code of conduct is likely in next one week or around.

– Textile traders in Surat held meeting and decided not to decorate the market with lights during upcoming Diwali festival if their demands for simplification of method of GST is not considered. Textile market lighting decoration on Diwali is considered iconic in city.

– Hearing on BJP leader Balwantsinh Rajput’s plea against election commission in connection with Rajya Sabha election results may take place on October 12. The Gujarat High court today gave more time to Amit Shah and Smriti Irani, two other candidates who are yet to file their replies.
