In a setback to self-styled OBC leader Alpesh Thakor, around 200 members of his outfit Thakor Sena including its Aravalli district secretary in North Gujarat today joined ruling BJP.

Aravalli district secretary of Thakor Sena Chatursinh and others joined the ruling party during a get-together event (Snehmilan) of the party in Bayad on the occasion of Gujarati New Year.

He said that the workers of the outfit were very unhappy about Alpesh’s ditching them and hurting the sentiments of the community by joining a party (Congress), which has done nothing and was especially against Gujaratis.

Notably, citing similar reasons people of OBC community had burnt Alpesh’s effigy at various places including Balasinor in Central Gujarat and Himmatnagar in North Gujarat.
