November 16, 2017
Surat:
Senior Congress leader from Rajasthan and former union minister Sachin Pilot had to face opposition from a group of Rajasthani people here today during his election campaign.
A group of people who were natives of Rajasthan settled in Gujarat opposed Pilot during his door to door campaign in Kailsanagar locality in the Surat East assembly segment of the city.
They shouted slogans against the Congress leader including go-back, go-back and also hurled hand-written pamphlets in Hindi towards him. In the pamphlets they have alleged that Congress had done nothing for the development of Rajasthan during its rule and so a party leader from Rajasthan has no right to campaign in Gujarat.
Some of the protesters even pulled out their black T-shirts and waved it towards him as a mark of protest.
Pilot on the other hand claimed that the protestors were activists of ruling BJP who wanted to incite them.
