PAAS convener, Hardik aide Lalit Vasoya may file nomination as Congress candidate tomorrow

Ahmedabad:

Close aide of Hardik Patel and senior PAAS convener Lalit Vasoya today said that he would file nomination from Dhoraji constituency tomorrow as a Congress candidate.

Vasoya, a convener of PAAS from Saurashtra and also the member of its core committee, today also said that he would file his nomination tomorrow.

‘There is a meeting between PAAS conveners and Congress this evening. If the ticket to me is finalized before tomorrow, I will go with the mandate and if not I will file the nomination and submit the mandate when it is allotted,’ he said.

He also said that he would formally resign from PAAS for contesting election but he would always remain a part of Patidar agitation.

Vasoya said that politics was not a new thing to him and he had been in to it for 3 decades and was even the chairman of the standing committee of Dhoraji municipality in the past.

Meanwhile questions are being raised about the attitude of senior PAAS leaders who without bothering for the resolution of so called quota issue with Congress were hopping around for ticket.

It is being said that Congress has agreed to give tickets to around 8 of Hardik aides. After the humiliation by the party in Delhi where its leaders refused to meet PAAS conveners including Vasoya, a ticket deal was reportedly finalized late last night.

A meeting between PAAS conveners and senior Congress leader Siddharth Patel was also likely to take place this evening at the state headquarters of the party in Paldi.

Notably, Congress had not made any official announcement of its candidates for two phase assembly elections slated for December 9 and 14.
