Jodhpur court directs police to file FIR against cricketer Hardik Pandya for alleged twitter comment ‘against’ Ambedkar

Jodhpur: In response to a petition by D R Meghwal, a special SC/ST court at Jodhpur in Rajasthan on Wednesday directed the police to file police complaint against Vadodara based Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya.

According to petitioner D R Meghwal who is member of an outfit Rashtriya Bhim Sena in Jalore district of Rajasthan, Hardik Pandya had on December 26 last year posted a comment on his twitter insulting Ambedkar and hurt the sentiments of the people of his community.

“Which Ambedkar ??? The one who drafted a cross law and constitution or the one who spread the disease called reservation in the country,” Pandya purportedly posted on his twitter timeline, claims Meghwal who says he learnt about it through social media in last January.

Advance search on Pandya’s twitter account doesn’t show he made such comment.

It is learnt that the said comment was made on Hardik Pandya’s fake twitter account and not official verified account. Even on fake account the tweet is missing.

While the comment was made by twitter handle @SirHardik3777 which is fake account, the verified account of Hardik is @HardikPandya7.

Even though the comment was made by unverified fake account, the court has directed police to file FIR against Hardik Pandya.

In June last year, social media was abuzz with a screenshot of Hardik Pandya’s tweet in which he was quoted as saying ‘Hume to apno ne loota gairo me kaha dumm tha.’ Hardik however had later clarified that he had not posted such tweet, and the screenshots circulating on social media were fake.
