‘Swadesh’, the 100% hand crafted garment brand introduced for the first time in Gujarat at Indian Textile Global Summit

Ahemdabad: ‘Swadesh’, the 100% hand crafted ladies garment brand, attracted one and all at the three-day exhibition ‘Farm to Fashion’ at Gujarat University Convention Centre in Ahmedabad. This fashion brand from portfolio of Reliance Trends has been introduced for the first time in Gujarat. It is currently present in 10 cities of the country at Reliance Trends stores. The brand will be launched in Ahmedabad after Diwali as a part of the project Eve.

The exhibition is part of Indian Textile Global Summit organised by Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) and Maskati Cloth Merchant Mahajan (MCMM). Dr. Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, who inaugurated the Summit here yesterday, took time to visit the Swadesh garments displayed at an exhibition. ‘Farm to Fashion’ is the theme of the event present by Reliance Industries Ltd.

Dignitaries including Dr. Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shri Parashottam Rupala, Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani and others evinced keen interest in Swadesh products displayed at Reliance Trends stall during their visit to the exhibition venue subsequent to the inaugural ceremony.

Swadesh product have been prepared using various indigenous, traditional and ethnic arts from various parts of India. The brand covers Bagru &Dabu print, Bikanir Emb, Barmer Applique from Rajashtan; Bhagalpur Silk- Tussar, Matka & Geecha from Bihar; Ajrak Prints, Kutchi embroidery and Khadi from Gujarat; Lucknow-Chikankari and Varanasi –Cutwork from Uttar Pradesh; Linen and Bengal Cotton from West Bengal; Chanderi and Maheswari from Madhya Pradesh and Kalamkari, Ikat and Mangalgiri from Andhra Pradesh. Swadesh products in nutshell reflect Indian ethos, whether it is textile or accessory.
Swadesh brand targets Intellectual, creative and independent women of substance who treasures and value Indian heritage. The brand demonstrates the richness and diversity of Indian culture, will also give a boost to employment generation and provide much for support for Indian artisans.
