Veteran humorist, author, columnist Vinod Bhatt passes away

Ahmedabad: Veteran humor writer, author, orator, columnist Vinod Bhatt passed away today He was ailing for some time and under the treatment. He took last breath at 11.05 am today. His body will be donated to medical college at 5.00 pm today. One of most popular persons in Gujarati literature world, Vinodbhai was 80-year old. He has given over 20 books. Born on 14 January 1938 at Nandol near Dahegam in Audichya Brahmin family, Vinodbhai graduated from HL Commerce college in Ahmedabad in 1961 and did LLB after that. He was tax consultant by profession. He had been president of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad. His popular columns in Gujarati dailies were Idam Trutiyam and Magnu Nam Mari. He was awarded Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak, Ramanbhai Nilkanth Puraskar, Jyotindra Dave Puraskar etc. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani condoled the demise of veteran Gujarati author and humorist Shri Vinod Bhatt and observed that the death of the author with a distinctive style of humor is an irreparable loss to the Gujarati literary world.
