1.25 crore to participate in Yoga Day events across Gujarat, world record to be attempted

Ahmedabad:

Around 1.25 crore people will participate in International Yoga Day even at more than 43 thousand centers across Gujarat on June 21 during which a world record of sort in ‘silent yoga by the largest group of physically challenged or Divyang children’ would also be attempted.

Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, today informed.

The attempt to break the earlier record of 350 such children would be made at the main state level function on the occasion in Sardar Patel Stadium here where Governor O P Kohli, Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani, Union Minister of state for law, justice and corporate affairs P. P. Choudhary, Chief Justice of
Gujarat High Court Justice. R. Subhash Reddy, senior Judge Justice M. R. Shah, Judge of Rajasthan High Court Justice Jhaveri, Gujarat Chief Secretary Dr. J. N. Singh would also remain present.

Chudasama said that Ahmedabad District Administration in association with the Patanjali Yog Sansthan has made special preparations in Ahmedabad city for the World Yoga Day to draw the attention of the world. On that day 750-1200 Specially-abled children will create the world record by exhibiting the ‘Silent Yoga’ at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. They would be given instructions through their head-phones using the Bluetooth technology.

The Yoga Day would be celebrated at 43,377 centers across the state. 4,082 pregnant women and 8,732 specially-abled children would also participate in it.

Besides Patanjali Yog Sansthan, other NGOs such as Art of Living by Sri Sri Ravishankarji, Prajapita Brahmakumari Vishwa Vidhyalaya, Swaminarayan Sampradaya and others were also actively associated with the preparations for the events.
