Bavalia on his choice of portfolios, Parshottam Solanki, impact in LS election and more

Rajkot: Kunvarji Bavalia who took oath as minister after quitting Congress today morning, in reply to media’s query regarding possible portfolios he could be assigned by Chief Minister said, ‘I am from Education field, if you look at rural background it’s Water supply and Irrigation and at the same time I will also address the issue related to OBC community.’

Bavalia said he has been invited to state cabinet tomorrow.

When asked against Congress’s claim that party had given a lot to him, Kunvarjibhai said, ‘I have given important years of my young age, I have given blood and sweat to win trust of my voters. I have not won due to Congress symbol, but through my own hard work. Those calling me gaddar should first see their face in mirror. I wanted to work, but opportunity was not given to me. They(the Congress leaders) also say that I am 50 plus in age, but I work today like 45 plus person.

When asked to react to Bholabhai Gohel rejoining Congress party, Kunvarjibhai said, ‘it’s good. Bholabhai if wants to taste his water, should come and contest against me.’

Kuvarjibhai rejected Congress party’s claims that he was joining BJP under pressure or due to any threat related to some criminal case. Kunvarjibhai said, ‘I haven’t done any such thing because of which I should fear or come under pressure. There’s no stain. I have not been under pressure of government.’

He continued, ‘I have capacity to sink Congress’s ship in Saurashtra if Congress men continue to speak against me in offending way.’

Kunvarjibhai said impact of induction of Koli community leader in state cabinet will be felt in upcoming Lok Sabha election. He added that in the past CD Patel was part of state cabinet.

Bavalia said, Koli leader of BJP, Parshottam Solanki is not in Gandhinagar due to poor health, but Solanki too expressed pleasure over his induction to State cabinet over phone.
