Two feeders of SKY inaugurated in Rajkot; presentation given to farmers

Rajkot: Suryashakti Kisan Yojana(SKY) is on roll now. The first two feeders for SKY in Rajkot district were inaugurated today in a function at Jetpur. Under the SKY programme, Rajkot district is going to get five feeders. The first feeder inaugurated today is called Jadeshwar feeder. The other feeder also inaugurated today is called Balaji feeder. It was inaugurated at Dhank. In a Rs 870 crore pilot project of SKY, total 137 feeders are to be errected statewide.
Farmers will need to pay 5% sum of the project against which they shall attract 60% subsidy from the State government and loan for rest of the ammount. They will need to repay the loan ammount through electricity generated at farm side through solar panels. The farmers will be able tog et 12-hour power. The contract they need to sign will be effective for 25 years.
Energy minister Saurabh Patel, local leader and civil supply minister Jayesh Radadia, PGVCL chief engineer JJ Gandhi, former minister Jasuben Korat, former MLA Pravin Mankadia, Mansukh Khacharia, social leaders, farmers, PGVCL staff members were present on this occasion.
The farmers were given presentation about the scheme.
