Two arrested in Surat for flying drone to capture Tiranga rally visuals

Surat: Surat police has booked two youths under Aircraft Act – 1934 for flying drone at extra ordinary height without permission, the act which may create danger for air traffic.
A rally with 1.1 km long and 9 ft wide tricolor was held in Surat by ‘Agrawal Vikas Trust’ on ocasion of Independence Day. To capture video visuals of rally, a drone was put into the air in no-flying zone.
A pilot in aircraft passing nearby at around 9.00 am spotted the movement of drone and informed the air traffic control of Surat airport, which reported the incident to Umra police.
When checked, police found that no permission was sought by organizers for flying drone.In this case, drone was flying above 1000 meter height which was dandorous for aircrat movement.
Police inspector of Umra D.H.Gor later booked and arrested Kamal Ramanbhai Patel and Rahul Omprakash Agrawal undr Aircraft Act – 1934 section 11. Both are facing 6 months imprisonment and upto Rs 10 lakh fine. Drone has been seized by police.
