Ahmedabad:
Even as the matter regarding police deployment around Greenwood resort off SG highway, the residence of Congress backed PAAS leader Hardik Patel where he is on indefinite fast since August 25 is in the Gujarat High Court, JCP of Crime Branch J K Bhatt today said that it was not true that police was stopping anyone from meeting Hardik.
Bhatt, known leading the crime branch in solving several difficult cases including the mysterious disappearance of Pravin Togadia in January this year, visited the venue today also. He had also visited it yesterday.
Later he said that he was there to supervise the security and police bandobast only.
He said that it was not correct to say that police was stopping anybody from meeting Hardik. ‘One can see that anybody can come to the place freely. Police was only doing its duty of ensuring security and not stopping anyone,’ he said.
Earlier DCP of zone 1 Jaipal Rathod who was in-charge of the police deployment at the venue met Hardik Patel. He later said that he had met him to assure him that police was there to help in case of any medical need. He also met him in connection with security arrangements as he was responsible for it.
