RJ Devki, others booked for causing hurt to a four-year old child at FM channel’s event

Ahmedabad: Complaint has been filed against five Radio Jockeys namely RJ Devki, Ayush, Dhrumil, Nishita and Harsh for causing injury to a 4-year old child during Red Ras garba event of 93.5 Red FM at Mahi Party plot on Sindhu Bhavan road here.

Ahmedabad: In a complaint filed at Vastrapur police station, complainant Bhavesh Trikambhai Zalavadia (41) who is father of victim child stated that on 12 October he had visited Red Ras garba event at Mahi party plot with his wife and his son Ath(4).

During 11.00 – 11.30 pm after Garba was over, RJ Devki, Ayush, Dhrumil Nishita and harsh were throwing compact discs packed in fiber-plastic covers over crowd ‘carelessly’. One of such CDs hit complainant’s son Arth just below his left eye. As there was no facility for primary treatment at the venue, complainant took his son to Sanjivani hospital and after primary treatment returned home in South Bopal area.

Complainant Bhaveshbhai who is Chartered Accountant with his office in Anandnagar area further stated that when RJs were throwing CDs carelessly, his wife had covered son’s face with her purse in order to protect him against flying CDs. However, the son in order to see what was going on, removed this protection cover for a while and he was immediately hit by a CD with hard cover.

Complainant visited the same venue again on 15 October and he witnessed that RJs were again throwing CDs from stage. He therefore decided to file complaint.

Accused are booked under Indian Penal Code section 337 which is about causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others.

If proved guilty under this section, whoever causes hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life, or the personal safety of others, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both.

Vastrapur police is investigating the case.
