Garudeshwar Weir project: Gujarat govt announces land in exchange of land, cash compensation options for those affected

Gandhinagar: Departments of Narmada, Water resources, Water supply and Kalpsar, Government of Gujarat have taken a decision to give land to those affected by Garudeshwar weir project in exchange of land.
Total seven villages are to be affected due to the project.
According to the government, those who want land in exchange of land will be give land while those who wish to have Rs 7,50,000 compensation per hectare will be given cash compensation.
The earlier announced provisions on 28th November 2013 and 6th January 2015 regarding package will stay as it is barring corrections announced today.
According to government note, the land will be allocated through land bank of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam.
