Tall SRP jawans to be picked up for creating a special platoon for Statue of Unity

Bharuch: A special platoon of tall police jawans will be created for their deployment at Statue of Unity site at Kevadia Colony in Central Gujarat.
Only those having height greater than 5 ft 10 inches will be selected for this platoon of 30 jawans. They shall be selected from State Reserve Police(SRP) force.
They shall also give evening performance everyday like that of Border Security Force jawans at Wagah boarder in Punjab.
Statue of Unity is the tallest statue of the world. It features Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the iron man of India and country’s first deputy prime minister.
