Gujarat Govt. plans Rs. 5500 crore deep sea industrial waste water discharge pipeline project

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat today made several announcement for industrial sector in the State:

– Waiver from CTE process for industrial units that obtain environmental clearance by GPCB. Approval in maximum 105 days under the scheme. The decision will directly benefit around 1,000 industries. Around 10,000 persons will get early employment thanks to this decision.

– Gujarat has around 700 dyestuff industries. They need to obtain GPCB permission for changing the type of dyes for which takes 3-6 month period. With new scheme of State govt, they will not need to go to technical committee. This will avail permission in 15 days. 700 dyes industries will directly benefit from this. This will avail early investment of Rs. 2,000-3,000 crore. Around 50,000 will get direct employment.

– GPCB seizes bank guarantee amount from industries that breach environmental laws. This around Rs. 15 crore amount will be used for environmental causes. This will directly benefit common environmental infrastructure and technology.

– GPCB will take decision on application regarding CTE fresh and CCA renewal in 30 days instead of present period of 45 days. GPCN gives CTE fresh and CCA renewal to annually around 5,000 units. This takes 45-60 days. Shortened period of issuance will benefit around 5,000 units directly.

– GPCB has increased consent validity period: GPCB gives consent for 5-7-10 years. Under new policy, consent period will be 5-10-15 years, so that industries will not need to come again and again for approval.

– New approvals are being given in Ankleshwar for 5 MLD industrial waste water discharge and same for Panoli for 1 MLD. New approvals were not given in these areas in last ten years due to saturation in capacity of CETP and other issues. The government has brought solution to this problem. Thanks to this decision, around 200 new and existing industries will be able to do expansion. This will result into Rs. 1,000 crore new investment and addition of 50,000 employment opportunities.

– Rs. 5,500 crore integrated policy for deep sea discharged of treated industrial waste water will be announced ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit for Veraval to Vapi belt. Waste water discharge at present takes place mainly in rivers. The proposed deep sea discharge pipeline project will held in reduction of pollution in rivers.

– Period of usage of plot allotted by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) was 3-4-5 years. Now on, units upto 1 lakh sqm will be given 4-year user permission. Moreover for plots/shades upto 3,000 sqm size will be given 3% rebate in balance capital.

– Transfer of small industrial units which were in use in the past but went defunct later on for whatever reason will be able easier with maximum limit of fine cut from 20% to 10%. Relief in interest on fine will be 100% while in delayed interest 50% if 2,474 allottees upto 3000 sqm size GIDC plot/shade pay entire pending payment. On the same lines, water charges, drainage charges will also attract relief in interest and delayed interest.

– GIDC will start help desk to help allottees of upto 3,000 sqm plot/shades.

– Under the Industrial Policy 2015, Assistance for Industrial Infrastructure scheme, the government aid will be 80% of project cost instead of 60%.
