US based global hospitality chain Hilton starts its 19th Indian hotel in Ahmedabad, second only in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Global hospitality chain, US based Hilton, today announced the opening of its five star deluxe hotel DoubleTree by Hilton in Ahmedabad which is the only second one of the group in Gujarat and 19 th across the country.

Situated next to ISRO colony in Vikram Nagar close to the SG highway in the plush locality of the city this latest edition to the Hilton’s hotel is a unit of Hirise Hospitality Pvt Ltd and managed by Hilton. The 173 rooms hotel has taken 4 years for construction at a cost of around Rs 200 crore.

Addressing a press conference here Navjit Ahluwalia, senior vice president and country head, Hilton India, and Tanmay Bathwal, Managing Director, Hirise Hospitality Pvt Ltd, said that the hotel offered a variety of dining and entertainment choices and boasts the city’s first outdoor rooftop swimming pool. The hotel presents two dining outlets. Wave, the all-day dining restaurant offering a delectable buffet spread of Indian, Southeast Asian and Western flavors, and Hop, the café style lobby lounge which offers grab and go snacks and beverages. The hotel also has 24 hour in-room dining facility and a 24 hour fitness center for guests. The 173 spacious rooms, including seven suites, offer city views with floor-to- ceiling windows.

The property features 15,000 square feet of events space and has six conference rooms as well as a pillar-less Grand Ballroom ideal for weddings, meetings and conferences. The Executive Lounge on the 10th floor offers panoramic views of the city skyline, and exudes a perfect blend of sophistication and functionality.

Designed by Studio Symbiosis, DoubleTree by Hilton Ahmedabad has taken 4 years for construction at a cost of around Rs 200 crores, Bathwal said.

He informed that the only other and comparatively smaller hotel managed by Hilton in Gujarat is Hampton by Hilton in Vadodara city.

He said that paying ode to River Sabarmati, the exterior of the hotel mirrors its magnificent waves, a symbol of continuity. The entry to the hotel is marked with a column-less cantilever that creates a dramatic entrance space. The grand lobby blends coherently with the modern interiors and features the meandering staircase that adds to the old world charm.

With the opening of this hotel the number of Hilton managed hotels in India has reached 19.

Hilton with its brand Hilton Honors has more than 5,500 properties with nearly 895,000 rooms in 109 countries and territories across the world.
