Gujarat govt. promotes six IPS officers

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has promoted six Indian Police Service(IPS) officers namely Satish Sharma from ADGP to DGP, and Dr. Vipul Aggarwal, DN Patel, MA Chawda, GL Singhal and JR Mothaliya to IGP grade.
Satish Sharma is Commissioner of Police in Surat. Dr. Vipul Aggarwal is now Joint Commissioner of Police – JCP (Administration) of Ahmedabad instead of Additional Commissioner of Police – ACP( Administration). DN Patel is also promoted as JCP from ACP in Surat police(Sector-2). MA Chawda is now IG of Gandhinagar range instead of DIG. GL Singhal is now IG of Gandhinagar based Commando Training Centre instead of DIG. JR Mothaliya is now JCP(traffic) instead of ACP (traffic) for Ahmedabad.
With this, the State govt. has also granted junior administrative grade to 8 IPS officers and upgraded selection grade to 14 IPS officers with effect from 1st January.
