Veteran Hindi film actress Moushumi Chatterjee joins BJP

New Delhi: Yesteryears Bollywood actress Moushumi Chatterjee on Wednesday joined BJP saying she is keen to work for the saffron party.
She formally took BJP membership in presence of BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya, party’s poll in charge for West Bengal.
BJP sources have indicated that the star, who featured in several hit films in 1970s and 1980s, may contest in one of the parliamentary seats in the Trinamool Congress ruled state.
The saffron party is looking for popular faces to contest polls in the state where BJP has set an ambitious target of 22 plus seats.
In 2014, BJP nominee S S Ahluwalia won from Darjeeling and Babul Supriyo, also a Bollywood singer, won the election from Asansol in south Bengal.
