No truth in the made-out speculations about my elevation as DyCM: Bavaliya

Rajkot:

Gujarat Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya, who recently won Jasdan assembly by-poll as BJP candidate, today said that there was no truth in the ‘made-out’ speculations that he was being elevated as the Deputy Chief Minister.

Talking to newsmen here he also clarified that his meeting with PM Narendra Modi in Delhi on December 31 (after which various speculations about him were rife) was just a courtesy visit post his election victory in Jasdan and there were no discussions about giving him any bigger role in the wake of the coming Loksabha election.
‘Though I am ready to take any responsibility the senior leaders in the party wished to give me yet I want to make it clear that during my meeting with the PM nothing beyond the victory of the party in Jasdan was discussed. I had gone to Delhi to meet the PM and BJP president Amit Shah after my victory in the election as a courtesy. So far as the talks about my elevation as DyCM were concerned, these were all wrong and made-up kind of thing,’ he said.
He said that he was working as per the instructions of the senior leaders of the party including the PM, CM, Amitbhai and Jeetubhai to ensure how the party wins all the 26 LS seats again. It was immaterial whether or not he was given any formal responsibility for the election he would keep working earnestly.
To a query he said that as he was also the president of the All India body of Koli community, the BJP is seeing and would certainly see more and more people from his community getting affiliated to it.
Notably, Bavaliya a five time former Congress MLA of Jasdan had left the party and resigned from the seat in July this year alleging ignore of senior leaders like him in the party. He had joined BJP and was inducted in the cabinet. He won the December 20 by poll as BJP candidate by double the margin with which he had won Jasdan assembly election last time in 2017.
