ABVP cadres attacked at Bhavans college, taken to VS hospital; Khans, others booked

Ahmedabad: Students believed at Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parithsad(ABVP) cadres were attacked in wall city area based Bhavans college with sharp weapons for questioning the act of removal of ABVP sign painted on wall of the college. It is being alleged that accused were from rival student organization National Students Union of India(NSUI). Two injured from ABVP side are admitted in city’s V.S. hospital. Police has booked the accused under section 326, 324, 392 and 114.

According to First Information Report (FIR) filed by victim Pratik Mistry in Shahpur police station, today at around 12.15 pm, he was sitting on Activa two-wheeler of his friend Himanshu with other friends at Bhavans college. One of the friends in group, Ishan Parmar spotted Farhankhan Pathan, Arbazkhan Pathan and Bhavin Kohli removing “ABVP” mark painted on campus wall. When Ishan questioned why they were removing ‘ABVP’ wall painting, the accused started verbal abuse and then also involved in physical scuffle. When tried to free Ishan, Farhankhan attacked Pratik using sharp weapon twice. As the second attack was on Mistry’s foot, he lost balance. Farhankhan then snatched 1.5 tola golden chain. As Divyapalsinh Solanki tried to free Pratik, another accused Arbazkhan arrived there with sharp weapon while Bhavin Kohli took hold of Divyapalsinh. Divyapalsinh was attacked twice with sharp weapon by Arbazkhan. Later the friends of Mistry arrived. Mistry’s elder brother Prince took both injured ABVP cadres to emergency ward of V.S. hospital in 108 ambulance.
