Met defers cold-wave warning for Gujarat for a day, intensity also likely to be less

Ahmedabad: The met has deferred the cold-wave warning for Gujarat.
It has earlier said that the return of cold-wave conditions in parts of the western state would be from January 6 and continue for a few days but in today’s bulletin it has said that the cold wave would be experienced on January 7 very likely at isolated pockets in the districts of South Gujarat region, Saurashtra- Kutch namely Valsad, Bhavnagar and Kutch.
It has not issued any warning for January 8 or 9 even though in the bulletin it has predicted 2 to 3 degrees fall in minimum temperatures in the next as many days.
Meanwhile Gandhinagar saw the lowest temperature today at 9.6 °C and it was the only place in the state where the mercury went below 10. Ahmedabad was at second place in this regard at 10.2 °C which was 2 notches below normal. The maximum here at 30.1 was however 2.6 above normal.
