Hardik to contest LS polls from Jamnagar seat in Gujarat, likely to join Congress on March 12
March 07, 2019
Ahmedabad: PAAS leader Hardik Patel in all likelihood would contest next Lok Sabha election on Congress ticket or congress backed candidate on Jamnagar seat in Gujarat.
Highly placed Congress sources today said that Hardik would most likely join the party formally on March 12 in presence of Party president Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders in a rally in Gandhinagar or soon after CWC meeting here that day.
‘But it has not yet been finalized from Hardik’s side yet. He will in all likelihood join the party on March 12 or on any other date after that. He is willing to contest the election from Jamnagar seat,’ the sources said.
Notably, Hardik had openly supported Congress in the last assembly election and speculations in the political circles about his joining the party or contesting LS election with the party support were on since then.
Hardik himself has made it clear that he would contest the LS polls.
Update:
PAAS convener and Hardik Patel aide Morbi based Manoj Panara said a meeting of PAAS core committee was held at Padadhari and a decision was taken that Hardik Patel should join Congress and contest Lok Sabha election. He said there are several seat from where Hardik can contest election including Amreli, Porbandar, Mahesana and Jamnagar.
