By-poll on Jamnagar – Rural assembly on April 23 along with Lok Sabha election

Jamnagar: By-election on Jamnagar – Rural seat will be held on April 23 along with Lok Sabha general elections. The schedule of by-poll on this seat will be same as Lok Sabha general election schedule for 26 Lok Sabha seats of Gujarat.
Jamnagar – Rural seat is vacant due to resignation of Congress MLA Vallabh Dharaviya ahead of joining BJP.
Along with Lok Sabha election, Gujarat will witness by-poll on Jamnagar – Rural, Manavdar, Dhrangadhra, Talala and Unjha seats.
While Congress MLAs from Jamnagar – Rural, Manavdar, Dhrangadhra and Unjha seats have joined BJP, Talala MLA has been disqualified following 2-year term given to him by local court in mineral theft case.
