Water enough for two-month use added to Ranjitsagar dam through SAUNI

Jamnagar: Ranjitsagar dam in Jamnagar has now water storage enough to last for two months, thanks to SAUNI scheme. The dam has been filled with Narmada water brought here from Machhu-2 dam. The process was initiated on 2nd March. Narmada water was brought from Machhu-2 dam to Und-1 sump and later to upstream areas of Ranjit Sagar dam via a big size pipeline.
As many as 7 small check dams in Konja, Motibhalsan, Vaniyagam etc villages that are located on way have witnessed overflow. The level of water in the dam has touched 9 ft mark.
According to DH Chhatrala, controlling officer of municipal corporation’s water works department, dam has received 151 mcft water. Daily 20 mld water is lifted from the dam.
