Mahesana: Congress party has picked up AJ Patel as its candidate for Mahesana Lok Sabha seat. AJ Patel has served as district panchayat president of Patan in late 1990s. He was government servant for over two decades working with the state government. He also served as class one officer in industry department. He is former additional industries commissioner and foods and drug commissioner. AJ Patel belongs to politically influential 84 gaam Patel samaj. Bachelor of mechanical engineering by education, Patel is founder chairman of Gujarat Ambuja Cooperative Bank Ltd. He is Akhil Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary School Management Mahamandal’s Chairman. He is Sikotar Mata Sewa Trust president. he had contested as independent candidate in 2002 after denied ticket by Congress on Chanasma assembly seat.
