Ahmedabad: A day after attack on Congress leader and former PAAS leader Hardik Patel, a group of people opposed him vehemently during an election rally in Patidar dominated Nikol area of Ahmedabad city in Gujarat this evening.

A fight between two groups also ensued in the meeting after which Hardik could not deliver his speech.

The rally was organized by Congress in favour of its candidate on Ahmedabad East Loksabha seat, Gita Patel.

Senior party leader Siddharth Patel, Shailesh Parmar and Gita Patel had completed their speech and as soon as Hardik stood to deliver his speech the ruckus begin. A group of people holding the cut-outs of jailed PAAS leader, who replaced Hardik as convener, started chanting Hardik Hai-Hai (down with Hardik). and Samaj ka Gaddar (betrayer of community). They said that Hardik was betrayer of Patidar community. He was not concerned about the community and jailed Alpesh any more and was busy shining his politics.

They threw away several chairs. A fight between them and congress/Hardik supporters also ensued but police intervened quickly.

The meeting was ended abruptly without the speech of Hardik.
Hardik and Geeta Patel, also a former PAAS leader, alleged that it was a conspiracy of Congress.

Hardik said that why people from outside (Surat) have come to oppose him. He said that he was not the one to be afraid of such things.

Notably, in the past also supporters of Alpesh had created ruckus during a get together of PAAS in Gota area of the city.

Police has rounded up some of the ruckus creators in Viratngar near Nikol.
One of the protestors said that Hardik was enjoying in Congress and moving in choppers and leading lavish life while Alpesh was languishing in jail. The family members of 14 youths who were killed during quota agitation were also suffering.

The protestors were carrying cut outs of Kathiria on which slogan we want Gabbar was written.

BJP leader Varun Patel, who had joined BJP before last assembly election leaving PAAS, said that people were angry at Hardik. It was not any conspiracy but an spontaneous reaction.

Geeta Patel claimed that merely by carrying Kathiria’s cut outs it could not be proved that they were his men. ‘It was out and out a BJP conspiracy,’ she claimed. Bapunagar Congress MLA Himmatsinh Patel also alleged BJP for it.

Notably, a farmer in Lunavada in central Gujarat had not allowed Hardik’s chopper to be landed in his land a few days back.
Yesterday a man Tarun Gajjar had slapped Hardik while he was delivering speech in a rally in Baldana of Wadhwan in Surendranagar district.

Hardik, who could not contest LS polls despite his wish due to his conviction in a rioting case, is now among star campaigners of Congress which he joined on March 12 in presence of Rahul Gandhi.
