AMC issues Orange alert for Ahmedabad, IMD issues heat wave warning for next 4 days

Ahmedabad: The AMC has issued orange alert for Ahmedabad city for tomorrow.
The alert said that the met department has intimated that maximum temperature in Ahmedabad city would be around 43 °C so an orange alert has been issued as per the heat action plan.
It said that people should take various precautions including wearing proper light coloured cotton cloths. Today the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad was 42 °C which was 1.6 °C above normal.
Meanwhile the met department in its bulletin today issued heat wave warnings for next 4 days saying that there will be a rise in temperatures by 2 to 3 °C after 24 hours. It has however omitted Ahmedabad from the areas where the heat wave would prevail. In the earlier warning list Ahmedabad was also included.

April 26, 27 and 28: Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the districts of Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Surat; in the districts of Saurashtra- Kutch namely Kutch, Amreli, Surendranagar, Diu.
April 28: Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated pockets in the districts of Gujarat Region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha.
