Lion viral video case: one culprit arrested, motorcycle seized

Amreli: The forest department has arrested one of the two persons being seen in a video which has gone viral and in which the body of an animal can be seen tied and being dragged by a motorcycle and followed by a lion in East Gir forests in Gujarat.
A forest official today said that the motorcycle has also been arrested and efforts were on to nab the second culprit. It might also be a part of an illegal lion show. The video was made in Luwariya in Matirala round of East Gir forests in Lathi range.
The video went viral yesterday. The culprit and the place of the incident were quickly identified.
Forest department had started a detailed enquiry in it.
He said that as per the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, the culprits might get an imprisonment of 3 to 7 years for this act.
