66.97% results for Gujarat board 10th exam

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) today declared its results of class 10 exam held in March this year with an overall pass percentage of 66.97% which was slightly below that of 67.50% of last year.
Girl students with 72.64% of pass percentage have left the boys (62.83%) way behind.
Surat district has again become the district with best results with 79.63% while Chhota Udepur was at the lowest rung again in this regard with just 46.38%. Center-wise Supasi in Gir Somnath district has topped in percentage tally with 95.96% while Tad in the same district has become the worst performing center with mere 17.63%.
The pass percentage for English medium was 88.11% while that for Gujarat medium was 64.58% which was much below that of Hindi medium result of 72.66%.
Board Chairman A J Shah said that of the total 822823 regular candidates appearing in the exam 551023 have passed.
366 schools have given 100% result while in 63 schools it was nil ie no student has passed.
Pass percentage among the repeat candidates was 17.23% while that for privately appeared candidates was 10.13%.
The results have also been put on the board’s web site www.gseb.org for viewing online.
