Over 700 overseas buyers from 120+ countries to participate in 7th IPHEX 2019 in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Bridging the gap between the global pharmaceutical buyers and the Indian manufacturers, the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), is set to host the 7th edition of its flagship event IPHEX 2019, at Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar from June 10-12, 2019.

The exhibition aims to boost India’s pharma export growth to over 15% this year, as compared to 11% growth achieved in 2018-19. India’s pharma exports stood at 19.13 billion USD 2018-19.

During an interaction with media, Vijay Shah, IPHEX-Chairman, said, “This major initiative will have over 360 pharma manufacturers and exporters from all over India, more than 700 international buyers to interact on a single platform. Spread over the area of 30,000 sqm at Helipad Exhibition Ground this event is being organized in Gujarat in recognition of Gujarat’s active contribution in the pharma exports of India. Previously, since its inception in 2013, it has been held in Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. IPHEX-2019 in Gandhinagar is the 7th edition.”

“IPHEX is an integral part of PHARMEXCIL’s export market development strategy. IPHEX will help Indian companies to get greater market access in all regions of the world which includes existing as well as emerging ones. India exports to the entire globe with a major share of exports in US, EU followed by markets in Latin America and the CIS nations.”

Raghuveer Kini, Executive Director, PHARMEXCIL, mentioned that 7th IPHEX 2019 is one of several initiatives taken by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to encourage overseas buyers to procure from India and help consolidate India’s global leadership position in bulk and generic drug manufacturing.
