18,334 benefited under Gujarat Bin Anamat Nigam schemes; Rs. 72 crore assistance offered

Gandhinagar: ‘Gujarat Bin Anamat Shaikshanik Arthik Vikas Nigam’ today in a statement said it has offered Rs. 72 crore assistance to 18,334 beneficiaries through various schemes launched for economically backward people belonging to unreserved section of society.
The list of schemes includes assistance for food, tuition, coaching, competitive exams, foreign study and training.
Annual family income below Rs. 4.50 lakh is criteria to get benefit under such schemes. In case of loan assistance, the criteria of annual family income is Rs. 6 lakh. Maximum rate of interest effective in various scheme is 5%.
Rs. 44.72 crore assistance has been given to 320 beneficiaries for foreign study. Installment of loan starts after completion of one year in job in this scheme, the statement said. Rs. 3.5 crore loan assistance has been given to 105 beneficiaries for education while Rs. 2.10 crore loan has been given to 48 beneficiaries for self employment.
