ACB nabs ASI red handed taking bribe in police station in Gujarat

Rajkot: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today nabbed an Assistant Police Inspector red handed taking bribe in Gondal Taluka police station.

Assistant Director of the ACB D P Chudasama said that ASI Dilip A Panseriya had demanded a total of Rs 80 thousand bribe from the complainant who was caught in Moti Khlori village under Gondal taluka on June 13 along with other 10 people while they were gambling. He had sought the money for not keeping in the police lock-up and not beating him up. He had later agreed to take Rs 73000/- and claimed that he would also share it with his senior police official. He took Rs 40 thousand yesterday and while he was accepting the remaining 33 thousand today he was caught during a trap laid by the ACB in the police station.

The ASI was deployed in the Vasavad police post under Gondal Taluka PS.
