ReDi to mark Social Media Day with Digital Dialogue

Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad-based ReDi (Responsibly Digital) will organize the ReDi Digital Dialogue 2019 on June 30 to mark World Social Media Day. The Dialogue is being held for the seventh consecutive year.

The Dialogue, being organized in partnership with UNICEF, and supported by Centre for Communication of Child Rights(CCCR), an initiative of SLS-PDPU, will see participation of educators, social media influencers, experts, policymakers, among others, and will comprise sessions and panel discussions on topics such as challenges of parenting in the social media age, use of digital media in sports, and leveraging the power of social media for governance.

The panel discussion on “Parenting in Digital Age” will see Mrs Anupama Singh, principal of Jamnabai Narsee School at GIFT City, Akshay Sethia, Founder Director & Chief Strategist at Dezine Brainz Digital, Prachi Shah, Founder of The Milestone Preschool, and Vijay Shankar, C4D officer with UNICEF India, sharing their unique insights. The panel discussion will be moderated by Pradeep Mallik, Head, Department of Languages, Literature & Aesthetics and Head, CCCR at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar

The Special Speakers session will see Sanjay Adesara, CEO of Gujarat Fortune Giants in the Pro Kabaddi League, in action. Adesara is one of the youngest CEOs in the sports industry, and will speak on “Impacting Sports Through Digital Integration”.

Senior IAS officer Mukesh Kumar will speak on “Using Digital Media for Governance”, and share his personal journey and experience of using social media platforms in an active and engaging way.

“Social Media Day in Ahmedabad has emerged as an important platform to discuss and debate topics concerning the digital world and finding solutions. This year’s topic ‘Parenting in Digital World’ at ReDi Digital Dialogue is just apt. Most of the children’s fixation to social media and parents’ queries on their roles in the child’s upbringing is an important issue to be discussed,” said Laxmi Bhawani, Chief, UNICEF Gujarat Field Office.

This will be the 7th edition of the event, which brings together digital users, influencers, professionals, and experts from various fields to meet, learn and share their insights and thoughts about the digital future and its impact. The Dialogue would be a great opportunity for digital media enthusiasts, brands, marketing professionals, and citizens, in general, to listen to different perspectives on relevant issues.

The ReDi Digital Dialogue 2019 will take place at The Fern, SG Highway from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, June 30. The event is open for all, though prior registration and confirmation are required. Those interested can register at www.bit.ly/redi2019.
