GSCB to extend OTS scheme till Aug 2020, set up two training centers near Statue of Unity and Ambaji

Ahmedabad:The 60th Annual General Meeting of the Gujarat State Cooperative Bank Ltd was held here today in which a decision to extend the one time settlement (OTS) scheme meant for settlement of bad-loans for all the 18 District Cooperative Banks in the state and 8200 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, was also taken.

The bank which is going to become the first Indian cooperative sector bank to launch prepaid card and digital wallet has also taken a decision to set up two training centers for the sector in Gujarat.

Chairman of GSCB, Ajay Patel, Vice Chairman and former minister Shanker Chaudhary were also present in the AGM.

Patel said that the OTS scheme would be extended till August 2020 and even the small and marginal farmers could take benefit from it. He said that the two training centers in which there would also be holiday home like facilities would be set up at the temple town of Amabji in Banaskantha district in North Gujarat and at a place near the Statue of Unity in Narmada district. People from cooperative banks and allied sectors from all over the country would be trained there.

Patel said that the banks even the non-account holders of all the district cooperative banks and urban cooperatives banks would be able to use the prepaid card of GSCB on launch. They will have to deposit Rs 100 and provide phone number and name.

Chaudhary on the occasion said that under the leadership of Patel, the bank’s total deposit has increased to Rs 6700 crores from mere Rs 1800 crores in just 10 years. For the past three years the net profit was also above Rs 100 crores.
