BJP wins 11 of 15 seats in municipality by-polls in Gujarat; up from 6 previously

Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 11 of 15 municipality seats that went to by-poll, said State BJP spokesperson Bharat Pandya terming this as blessings of people.
Pandya said BJP had previously 6 seats with it out of these 15. Now it has increased its tally to 11. Congress had 7 seats with it previously. It’s number has come down to 3.
Meanwhile BJP has also won a seat of Junagadh as all other candidates withdrew their nominations and one candidate was declared disqualified for contest for having more than 2 children. Polling for Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC) general election will take place on July 21. More details on this are awaited.
