Ahmedabad: Even as an upper air cyclonic circulation was lying over South West Rajasthan and neighbourhood there was no likelihood of any spell of heavy rain in Gujarat in next four days.

The state, which had soon good rains in the very first spell after somewhat late arrival of monsoon last month, is now desperately waiting for another such spell, will mostly see spells of light to moderate rains in the next four days, the met bulletin today said. It has not issued any heavy rain warning for next four days.

By 4 in the evening today just 16 talukas had seen light to moderate rain with Dascroi in Ahmedabad seeing the highest at 13 mm ie almost half an inch. During the last 24 hours ending at 6am today a total of 30 talukas had seen such rain with Vaso in Kheda district seeing the highest 27 mm and Choryasi in Surat 15 mm.

The state has so far seen 24.11% of the total seasonal rain. Kutch region has seen just 6.27%.

As per the met bulletin the state rain forecast for next four days is as following –

DAY 2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 19/07/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 20/07/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at a few places in all the districts of South Gujarat region, Daman
Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the district of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Mehsana, Anand, Kheda; at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra namely Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar. Dry weather very likely in Kutch districts; in the remaining districts of North Gujarat region, Saurashtra and in Diu.

Dadara Nagar Haveli; in the district of North Gujarat region namely Anand, Mahisagar, Panchmahal, Dahod; at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra- Kutch namely Amreli, Bhavnagar, Gir Somnath, Botad, Diu, Kutch. Dry weather very likely in the remaining districts of North Gujarat region, Saurashtra.
