Vadodara pays last respect to Indian Army martyr Arif Pathan

Vadodara: District collector, local MLA, city police commissioner and other dignitaries paid tribute to martyr Rifleman of Indian Army, Arif Pathan as his mortal remains arrived at Vadodara airport late in the evening. The city of Vadodara stood with martyr’s father Safialam Pathan and mother Habibanbanu. The local received Arif’s mortal remain at the airport with slogans such as Hindustan Zindabad, Pakistan Murdabad.

Sea of people participate in funeral of Army Jawan Arif

Vadodara: A huge crowd today participated in the funeral of Gujarati Army Jawan Arif Pathan, who was martyred during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Arif’s body was brought here in his home city last night and today it was taken to his residence in Navayard area of the city in a tricolour wrapped coffin kept in an army vehicle. A sea of people gathered there to have a last glimpse of the brave martyr.

His family members, relatives and friends, remembered him. One of them said that he was very fond of his sisters and their children and had given Rs 10 thousand Eidi (gift given on the occasion of Eid) to them last time around. He had made a video call three days before his martyrdom and had also told his mother that he would bring her joint pain medicine when he next came home.
When the funeral procession for burial started people shouted slogans like ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’ (Long live mother India).
