Parmar duo re-elected as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Amul Dairy

Anand: Well known co-operative sector leader and seven time former MLA Ramsinh Parmar, the incumbent Chairman of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), was today again unanimously elected as the Chairman of Kaira District Milk Marketing Association popularly known as Amul Dairy.

Parmar, who left Congress to join BJP two years ago, was on the board of Amul Dairy since 1978 and its Chairman since 2002.

He was elected the Chairman of GCMMF, the umbrella body of all the 18 Dairies of Gujarat, in January last year and continue to hold that position.

Rajendra Parmar, the incumbent vice chairman of the Amul Dairy has also been re-elected in the same capacity today.

The last tenure of both Ramsinh and Rajendra Parmar would end next month but the election has been held today. Their next tenure would start from August 15.

Amul Dairy is one of the prominent dairies of GCMMF with over 7 lakh milk producers associated with it. It collects around 30 lakh liters of milk per day.

Ramsinh Parmar speaking to media after his re-election said GCMMF will set up a new dairy plant in Kolkata and will also open another plant in Pune where land for this purpose has already been purchased.
