Gujarat Police chief issues a circular against viral TikTok videos featuring cops

Gandhinagar: Director General of Gujarat Police (DGP) Shivanand Jha has in a circular conveyed the officials of his department to see that no police staffer in uniform or without uniform, in police station or at other place should do anything through social media which may cause harm to the department. He has asked the department officials to prevent the videos of police staffers to go viral. DGP in his circular said that any police official whether on leave or even under suspension or not on active duty is after all a police official and therefore whenever any staffer’s some video or social media post that is found breach of discipline should be investigated and its viral circulation should be prevented. DGP issued this circular in response to some of recent incidences in which police men were found dancing or speaking dialogues in social media video app TikTok.
