SUMUL Dairy increased milk procurement prices by Rs 35/- per kg fat wef August 1

Surat: The Surat District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd popularly known as SUMUL Dairy, one of the 18 dairies of Gujarat associated with brand Amul, has announced to increase its milk procurement prices from by Rs 35 per kg fat with effect from August 1, 2019.
With this third increase in the procurement prices the price of bufalo milk will become Rs 685/- per kg fat while that of the cow milk will become Rs 645/- per kg fat.
Managing Director of the diary S V Chaudhary today said that the procurement prices increase was a seasonal affair and has been necessitated due to somewhat lowered milk supply.
He said that the dairy board today decided to increase the procurement price of both buffalo milk as well cow milk by a similar amount of Rs 35/-. It will be effective from August 1 and will be thrid such increase this year.
Sumul dairy procures on an average 15 lakh liter of milk per day from around 2 lakh cattle owners in Surat and Tapi districts.
